Doula and Childbirth Educator
The first time I drew a picture of what I wanted to be when I grew up, it was of a "baby nurse." I didn't know what that meant, or how to get there. I just knew in my child heart that I wanted to take care of babies, and later, mamas as well.
Once I became a mom myself, in my last year of college, I saw what was lacking in hospital and postpartum care. I began supporting friends and family when they added to their families.
I now live in NE Tennessee and I am a homeschooling mom to four amazing kids. Currently ages from 9-18. I am married to Joey, my high school sweetheart. This year we celebrate 20 years of marriage.
In 2018 I felt the call to become a certified Doula. I was certified with Birth Boot Camp in 2019 as both a birth doula and an instructor, and have been serving families ever since.
I have a special place in my heart for moms considered high risk or complex, having been there myself. I have attended unmedicated and easy births, all the way to complex intervention cesarean births with NICU babies. I give 100% of myself to each of these families, supporting them each in their unique needs. And I love every minute!
