What is a doula?

A doula is a person who provides emotional and physical support during labor and birth.  They are not a medical professional.  They do not do any medical procedures.

A doula helps your understand your choices and informed consent before and during birth.  A doula wants you to have the best birth possible! They believe in you.

How can I start working with you?

Schedule a free one hour consult with me today.  We can chat on the phone, via Zoom, or meet for coffee near where you live.

Do you offer group classes or workshops?

Yes!

Birth Boot Camp classes can be done privately or in a group setting.  They can be done in person or virtually with a Zoom follow up with me.

What if I can't afford a doula?

I can help you find ways to make hiring a doula work for you.  From using a HSA, having a money tree at a shower, using an installment plan, or having a yard sale!

A sliding scale is available for qualified clients.

Do doulas only attend home births?

Nope!  I attend whatever birth you need or desire.  I am comfortable in a hospital, and at a home birth.  I can help you with an epidural, or with an unmedicated birth.  I even have a package for planned cesarean births. I am there to support all moms.

What training do you have?

I began doula training in 2018.  I read a lot of books, watched childbirth videos, childbirth classes, attended support meetings, and filled out a lot of worksheets.  In 2019 I decide to also train as a childbirth educator.  I read even more complicated books and continued with the above.  I also attended two births that I observed. Finally I  attended an in person work shop for 6 days and passed a certifying test.  I officially became a Birth Boot Camp Instructor and Doula!

Can a doula deliver my baby?

No. I am not a midwife.  If you are in labor and are not with a midwife or doctor and the baby is being born, I will call 911 and ask for help.  I will only attend home births that are attended by a certified midwife.
