WHAT IS A POSTPARTUM DOULA?

A postpartum doula is a person who provides emotional and physical support as you prepare for baby, and after baby is born.  They are not a medical professional.  They do not do any medical procedures.

They help with light household chores, cooking, and baby care.

ARE CLASSES ONLY FOR LOW RISK BIRTH?

Nope!  There is a class for everyone and for every kind of birth.  There is a class for hospital birth, homebirth, and birth center birth.  We talk through it all.

WHAT TRAINING DO YOU HAVE?

I began doula training in 2018.  I read a lot of books, watched childbirth videos, childbirth classes, attended support meetings, and filled out a lot of worksheets.  In 2019 I decide to also train as a childbirth educator.  I read even more complicated books and continued with the above.  I also attended two births that I observed. Finally I  attended an in person work shop for 6 days and passed a certifying test.  I officially became a Birth Boot Camp Instructor and Doula!
